Nineteen distinguished academics, scholars, writers, and educators present original papers on various aspects of the work of Kostas Montis, focusing on Montis’s dialogue with crucial historical, political, and social issues, examining literary themes and motifs in his poetry and prose, and highlighting aspects of the contemporary reception, survival, and teaching of his work. In addition, within the framework of the Conference, people who knew Kostas Montis share their memories and personal testimonies.
The Conference is organized by the Center for Literary and Cultural Studies (KELOPOS), in collaboration with the Department of Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies of the University of Cyprus, on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the poet’s birth and the 20th anniversary of his death.
