Through an interdisciplinary approach, literature and the arts are brought into dialogue with medical knowledge, creating a space for reflection, exchange, and inspiration.
The event is structured in two parts. The first part comprises three lectures delivered by distinguished specialists in their respective fields: Plastic Surgeon Dr Georgία Koulermou, specialising in breast reconstruction following mastectomy; Dr Stefanie Christodoulidou, Psychologist at EUROPA DONNA Cyprus; and Dr Marina Rodosthenous-Balafa, Associate Professor of Modern Greek Philology at the University of Nicosia. The second part of the event will feature readings of poems dedicated to women by five well-known Cypriot poets.
The event will be accompanied by the AMusEd School cello ensemble, “Archi – Nysman Ensemble”, consisting of women amateur musicians who share a common love for the cello, performing under the guidance of their teacher, Angelina Konstantinou.
This evening event, which aims both to honour women and to raise public awareness of the importance of early diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer, is organised in collaboration with the American Breast Centre.
